All central air conditioning systems are very similar. Despite a few differences in high performance systems, the components are basically the same, but nearly every company that performs maintenance checks on these systems does the process differently. As a serviceman at Four Seasons, I have noticed that many of the bargain cleanings offered in the paper do not come close to checking and cleaning as many parts of the system as we do at Four Seasons. I began creating a list of the checks made by Four Seasons, and found that many homeowners would read it and be astounded by the number of parts we clean and check. For example, when a tech from Four Seasons writes on the service ticket, “checked thermostat,” he really checked at least 5 different components within that one part of the system. Here is a partial list of the steps we are taught to check as a service tech at Four Seasons:
- Check thermostats – batteries

- Check low voltage wiring – damage (lawn mowers, weed whips, mice, rats and squirrels)
- Check low voltage wiring – connections inside the unit.
I could keep going if you like. The point is we guarantee our work because we do a comprehensive inspection. Although ever single one of these points may not be listed on your service ticket at the end of the cleaning, you can rest assured that your tech from Four Seasons did indeed check each of these steps and more! Remember this is a partial list of the inspection points, I didn’t mention the compressor or Freon charge in the system. We also have to balance the charge to give the most efficient operation possible.
